Chiropractor
Brett Vowles DC, CCSP
Location: Des Moines & West Des Moines & Urbandale
Dr. Brett Vowles is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating from Palmer, Dr. Vowles moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he was a Chiropractor in a large group practice for several years.
During his time in Arizona, Dr. Vowles performed tens of thousands of adjustments on patients ranging in age from 3 hours old to 105 years old. Dr. Vowles also completed a post-graduate program on extremity care, and is one of the few Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioners in the State of Iowa. After the birth of his daughter, Dr. Vowles’ family decided that they wanted to relocate back to a great family community where their daughter could be raised, and he opened Optimum Chiropractic. Dr. Vowles has made the Mission of Optimum Chiropractic to enhance the health and wellness of West Des Moines community and dedicated to helping the community achieve that goal.

Derek Reicks, DC

Dr. Derek Reicks is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating from Palmer, Dr. Reicks moved to Missoula, Montana, and practiced alongside one of the best chiropractors in the state, fine-tuning his skills as a practitioner and preparing to provide outstanding chiropractic care to our community.
The two most influential factors in his decision to become a Doctor of Chiropractic was how patient-centered the care was, and how amazingly effective specific Chiropractic care can be. Never before had he seen healthcare so focused on the individual needs of each patient. Dr. Reicks has devoted his life to the study and practice of Chiropractic and derives his passion from every patient he encounters.

Thomas Anderson, DC

Dr. Thomas Anderson is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Right after high school he joined the Army and served for almost 15 years.
After his time in the Army he had joined a Pre-Med program and was on track to become an anesthesiologist when he first really learned about chiropractic and the bodies natural ability to heal itself. After learning more and more he realized that this form of health care resonated with his beliefs about the body and health care – so he switched his program. He went on the graduate from Palmer in June of 2005 and has been in private practice in Urbandale until joining the team at Optimum Chiropractic in 2019.

Darrius Poe, DC

Dr Darrius Poe graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, and has been with the Optimum team ever since. Dr Poe has a passion for how chiropractic can treat a wide variety of conditions from athletes to wellness care by allowing the body to heal itself.

Donovan Salgado, DC

Dr Donovan Salgado graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, and immediately opened his practice in Ankeny, Iowa.
After several years in Ankeny, he decided to join the Optimum Chiropractic team. He decided to become a chiropractor after seeing the amazing impact that the adjustment has on patients. He is excited to serve our community and see patients heal with natural chiropractic care.
